  • Yali pears - Coming from China from the Pyrus pyrifolia tree species. The Yali pear is just one of the many names this fruit goes by; such as, Asian pear, Chinese pear, Korean pear, Japanese pear, etc. This pear has a yellow-green color with a very thin skin.
  • Yamamomo - The Myrica rubra goes by many names (see lower on the list), and is a tree species that is grown for its edible fruit. The fruit itself is a crimson to dark-purple red in color, and is sphrical in shape at about 1.5-2.5 cm in diameter. Grows in subtropical weather.
  • Yangmei - Yangmei is another name given to the tree mentioned above: the Myrica rubra. It also goes by many other names, such as Chinese bayberry, Japanese bayberry, Red bayberry, Yumberry, and Chinese strawberry tree.
  • Yantok - Also known as the rattan fruit, is a type of palm, from about 600 other rattans, that give off fruit. These are native to the tropical regions of Asia, Australia, and Africa.
  • Yellow Plum - Come in a wide range of colors, one of which is yellow. They taste sweet and/ or tart and have a pit in the center of them. They are a high source of fiber.
  • Yellow Watermelon - Although often mistaken for a melon (mybe because it contains "melon" in its name) it is a fruit. Originally from Africa this vine-like flowering plant that usually sports either a green or yellow rind (although may sometimes be white), has a juicy and sweet interior flesh.
  • Youngberry - Is a hybrid of three different families of berries (raspberry, blackberry, and dewberry), and is often used to make jams or jellies.
  • Yucca - Yucca is a genus of shrubs from 40-50 other species of shrubs. Some species of these shribs give off an edible fruit, but not all.
  • Yumberry - In Japanese this fruit is also known as the Yamamomo (higher on the list) which is also known also as yangmei (also higher on the list); literally means the mountain peach.
  • Yuzu - This citrus fruit looks a little like a small grapefruit that has an uneven skin. Rumored to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda (another citrus fruit). The Yuzu originates from East Asia.
